I needed a pair of practical boots that can be used for cycling. These shoes have proven themselves very well. Arrived fully assembled. You have a tool to tighten the clamps as needed. I can say that I had strong and reliable ties. I check them weekly and have had absolutely no problems. I have a relatively narrow foot and have found that I need to tighten the straps a bit, but they work great. On the other hand, my feet are usually pretty true to size and I only feel a slight pressure from my front toes. If I use a thinner sock, it's ok. I recommend this product. That was great.
