Review on πŸ₯’ 6-in-1 Mandoline Slicer: The Ultimate Kitchen Tool for Effortless Vegetable Slicing, Dicing, and Grating by Alfreada Leotta

Watch your fingers: Kitchen & Dining

I'm making a cucumber salad, using a vegetable peeler, cut a cucumber into very thin slices that I like. I've had several slicers over the years that haven't been able to make the thin slices I wanted. I borrowed my son's mandoline slicer, which slices it into thin slices, almost as thin as my potato peeler. I was looking for a similar slicer in Revain as it makes my job easier and faster. I thought I bought the exact same slicer. I was surprised when it arrived as this model stacks up. I prepared 3 cucumbers for cutting. I was disappointed to see that this slicer made the slices too thick. I also managed to cut both thumbs on the blade in the process. It's my own fault for not using bait that you place on the food and press down, causing the food to bounce back and forth across the cutting blade. Probably for most people this slicer will cut the slices they are looking for. However, the folding feature, which really only helps with compact storage, can cause some misalignment when unfolded and therefore prevent food from moving back and forth with a guide I haven't used, resulting in a cut thumb.
