Updated August 2020: I tried a different replacement key fob than this one and encountered the same problem as my original review: the car would tip over but I wouldn't start and the green key icon was flashing on my dashboard. Upon further reflection, I thought that the part I thought was an RFID chip might not actually be one, but was instead a plastic cover that might have an RFID chip underneath that I might have to dig up. Sure enough, I did some digging and the RFID chip fell out and looked a lot bigger than you would expect from an RFID chip. So before you make the same mistake I did, please note that your key may have a plastic cover with some tabs that snap onto a non-chip RFID chip. The actual chip may need to be carefully removed, as was the case with me. So now I'm not sure if this replacement key fob listed here wouldn't work if I actually put an RFID chip in it. I think I threw it away which is a shame because it was definitely stronger than the other product I bought (the one that looks more like a factory part). I might order another one on my next Amazon order just to have on hand if the current replacement tag inevitably breaks. As cheap as a new blank, if your metal key is still ok and only the plastic key fob is broken then it's definitely worth a try. Honda Pilot EX 2006 release. The design seems to have one fatal flaw: the screw position closest to the key shank is exactly where the RFID chip is located relative to the key shank in the factory tag. This means the chip is at least half an inch farther from what the chip in the car reads and explains why my car won't start from this key fob no matter how I move the chip into the big void (always the same orientation ). . like the factory one, but I've tried guiding it from the bottom and top with a piece of soft plastic), or when I try to turn the key in any direction while putting it in the ignition. I put the key shank and chip back into my (worn out) factory key and it fired right away. I would recommend calling a locksmith rather than wasting time on this. Giving it two stars instead of one as it seems to work for some people (although obviously not for everyone) and the build quality isn't bad. Additional note: the included torx wrench was awful and hurt my hands installing the screws. Plan to use or buy your own, and place the keychain on a flat surface when doing so. The panic button worked really well for me too, I plan to remove that button.
