I don't use it for rock band, I use it as very inexpensive MIDI controller for my portable MIDI equipment. Lately I've been moving away from computers and back to hardware tools. I recently bought a Korg Volca Keys and while playing the ribbon keyboard is a lot of fun, I'm a lot more skilled on the keyboard. I wanted something that was battery powered and had a standard 5-pin DIN MIDI connector. After seeing reviews of this controller on various synth forums I bought it and it works great. The buttons work well, although the location of some controls is not always easily accessible. You can use the ribbon controller to change the pitch, but you have to hold down the button on the side of the ribbon to activate it, which seems counterintuitive. The button can help extend battery life, but I don't feel comfortable using it. Considering the price, this is still a phenomenal deal.
