Review on EZARC Precision Screwdriver Electronics Smartphone by Dennis Brinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Buy really strong bits, real S2 tool steel, it's worth it.

I am a trained uBreakiFix smartphone repair technician, my colleagues and I have been doing repairs for about 6 years. We usually use iFixit drivers and bit sets, the Pro Tech driver is probably the best out there, while the chrome vanadium bits are not. I've bought and used several kits over the years, CV-Flex under heavy loads, usually with flat heads, this one doesn't. The last set I bought had a dark copper/cherry finish that camouflaged the cheese pieces. The bat broke off the first time the pentalobe was used. Let's start with this set. It's complete, for the most part minus the sockets. The driver is a bit flimsy, but it's a by-product of a well-packaged and self-contained design. I only use the iFixit Pro Tech driver for everyday use and use the included driver when I need to take it with me. I've been testing this kit for the past 48 hours, it passed the scratch tests, the only thing I need to remember is stripping the screws. Due to its hardness, S2 tool steel is excellent for working with small electronics. Just don't press more than 650lbs on it with a hammer drill or the S2 may break. Overall the packaging/case is solid despite the fact that the magnetic caddy is plastic. It is also difficult to take it out of the aluminum sleeve. This set is the cheapest set available when you get it check all bits for squareness and alignment as I have a seldom used square bit with a squint but it is seldom used so who cares? The same repair I've struggled with for years using the same screws is now smoother and the bits are more securely attached to the screw heads, it's a surreal feeling. This is similar to the Wiha drivers. I bought one and just ordered two replacements, it's worth the extra cost for durability when you do repairs more than a few times a week.
