This heated pet mat from K&H PET PRODUCTS Thermo-Farm keeps my cats warm and cozy. I first heard about K&H pet heating mats when my daughter bought a large mat for her pig. He's a spoiled pig, and although he lives indoors, he didn't like lying on a tiled floor in winter, so she bought him a very big one. 6 years later he is still happy when the heating mat is taken out when it gets cold. And despite his penchant for ruining things when he gets naughty, the rug lasted the full 6 years. Then I bought a very large mat for my old labrador mix dog. She is 18 years old and has arthritis. In the winter it was so stiff and sore in the mornings but the heat mat made a world of difference! We're still using it 5 years later and it works great. The two mats I described are flexible mats covered in waterproof fabric, but this one is thick, hard plastic with heating elements inside. Like the other two, it has a long cord that's fully coiled, making it nearly fully tacky. This rug is strong enough that it cannot easily slide across the floor. I sew, so I made pads to put them on, with elastics on the corners to keep them in place. I bought it for my cats who love it very much. Size - 12 1/2" x 18 1/2" - perfect even for a large cat. They are designed to only heat up to 104F when a pet is on them, so you don't have to worry about accidental burns like you would with a regular heating pad. And you don't really have to deposit it. My cats will lie on it even if I wash the rug. You can also simply put a fluffy blanket over it to increase the snuggling effect. And it's totally scratch and scratch resistant. I live in an old drafty house and it's pretty cold inside in the winter. I have a variety of pet beds, but always this heating mat is where my cats want to be, and as soon as one gets up, another takes its place. Great warm blanket for our furry friends.
