At first my parrot was horrified. Not sure why. But we spent several weeks petting, cuddling and talking to the box to show the bird it was safe (yes, we looked ridiculous). We finally got the parrot to go into the crate by putting his favorite treats closer and closer and finally into the crate. It is very well made and feels comfortable. The fluffy blue "sponges" at the entrance are easy for my parrot to grab with its beak or paw. The carrying handle is durable and easy to carry or hang in the cage. Yes, it's falling apart, but that's because of my parrot, not the design of the box; he will gnaw holes in everything. We fill it with chew toys and my parrot loves to spend hours in it. The box conveniently contains all the chew residue.
