nuvo h20 replacement cartridge

I bought a replacement filter about 5 months ago when it came time to change the filter on my nuvo softner. I installed it correctly it worked fine for a month and now my water smells like sulfur I thought it was my well so I had to go to the pump company and pull the pump and replace the steel pipe with plastic as it turned out it wasn't good at all, it's the filter that is causing the smell and bad taste of my water.
