This pump is very sensitive to back pressure. Even a large aerator reduces the airflow so much that the pump shuts off during thermal protection. This makes the pump difficult to use. The reason it is very sensitive to back pressure is because it tends to heat up a bit and most of the pump's cooling is provided by the air being pumped. Unfortunately, some back pressure is inevitable as aerators restrict airflow. The manufacturer either needed a design that generates less heat, or they needed better internal cooling that is separate from the pump's airflow. I think I'll have to buy another pump soon.
