Very easy to apply. As others have said, to mount on the JK, snap off the mounting tabs with pliers and gently twist, they will cut slightly flush with the mounting base. The lip located in the groove of the wing keeps it perfectly level. Installation took about 10 minutes with a small ratchet and a 10 and 13mm head. Look great and love the fact that they lock. I lubricate the spring and other metal parts with grease to prevent rusting. The body of the latch is plastic, but it goes well with the texture of the wings. Everyone says it's good value for money. Update 01/15/2019: They still look great and keep the hood tight. Coming home from work today I noticed the driver's side was unlocked even though it was locked. The striker bar was broken where it attaches to the toggle switch. I guess someone tinkered with it while I was at work. So I gently pulled on the passenger side and the same thing happened. The bar burst in the same place. For security reasons I am changing my rating to 1 star. I'll probably keep them because they still look good and work like a good latch and I bought them on sale but wouldn't recommend them to anyone trying to secure their engine bay with superchargers or expensive spreader blocks and batteries. .
