Very nice lamp. It's made of metal. It was very easy for me to install. The whole thing took about 45 seconds. Open the box, rotate the flashlight, install the adapter, install the flashlight, tighten the 2 screws and you're done. I bought four. The design is clean and looks great on my 4" x 4" pressure treated racks, which are actually 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". My dilemma isn't with the quality of the product, but with how bright it is. I have other soft white solar lights on my way in addition to these lights. These lights are very bright white. The stark difference between bright white and soft white might be too much for me. You didn't sleep until one night. I think I'll wait a few nights before deciding whether to come back or not. I really don't want to go back because they are high quality and fit perfectly. Most of the others seem like crap. So if you need bright light, this is what you need.
