Excellent for motels. I bought it specifically for a cross country trip with my sister where we stayed at a new motel each night. Some motels have USB ports on the bedside tables, but certainly not all. I was glad to have my phone nearby for an alarm function and not across the room knowing it was charging all night. Until I found this surge protector, I had to carry around a long extension cord with multiple outlets on one end to simultaneously charge my phone and tablet in my motel room. With 2 USB ports and 3 3-pin sockets, I was able to easily charge my tablet and phone; Also, my sister was able to charge her phone/tablet at the same time with this surge protector. And all that, not to mention the built-in surge protection. The pins fold in to avoid piercing the pouch. Highly recommended.
