Review on 🔨 Enhance Woodworking Efficiency with the Performance Tool W3901 Hammer by Edward Perez

Ok when I bought this I knew I wasn't getting anything that looked like a machinist's tool, I mean I just wanted to use it on my 8 inch Harbor Freight table that cost $57.00. Drilling machine. But the vise wasn't really worth the $4 store! I've already spent over an hour revising it just to bring it up to some usable standard. The bolted faces of the jaws were not tightened even when the bolts were tightened. It appears that the poor job of drilling holes in the jaw plates (fake) allowed the screw heads to make contact with the jaw frame before the jaw plates were actually tightened. I had to cut the eyelet ends of 4 electronic wire connectors to use as spacers under the screw heads, leaving 2 screws that had to be ground down on the heads to be flush with the jaw plates. Then on the underside there is a piece of metal plate bolted to the underside of the moving jaw which acts like two things, one holds the jaw in the vise frame and the other acts as a slide rail, well it had to be routed but NO! They tightened the screws and just flexed the plate, then moved the screws back a little to allow the jaw to move, losing the screws. I reworked this by flattening the small plate, then finding some small washers to use as spacers, and then applying blue Loctite to the threads of the bolts. The metal plate was stamped with jagged sharp edges to cut into the vise frame, I turned it over so the smooth side would slide better on the vise frame. For a long time. Now that's supposedly the good side, the 2-1/2" vise is perfect for an 8" bench drill. As such, I don't currently see anything else from Revain that I could buy as a replacement. So I'll keep it but am looking for a replacement. For this item I would advise looking better and I'm not picky.
