Review on ๐Ÿ”Š BORLA 40359 Muffler: Engine Performance, Noise Reduction, and Durability in One Package! by Harley Franchetti

Borla Proxs is good for exhaust and emissions

Nice muffler. No scratches on the packaging. Came with a sticker. My Application: 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500L, 5.3L Cab, 6.5ft Bed. Cut the muffler of a stock BBQ grill just in front of it. The size of the stock muffler tailpipe was 3 inches before the muffler and 2.75 inches after the muffler. I installed a 1ft 3" pipe after the muffler and 3" down in front of the rear axle. Nice setting IMHO. The stock muffler sounded like a car, with deputies it sounds like a good truck. I fell in love with the growl it makes at lower revs like you're driving at 20-25 mph and if you press the gas pedal lightly it sounds like a big angry dog growling. Now if you bang it on the line it's pretty loud. It'll draw some looks, but it's definitely not evil. Sounds like a cool truck. Cold start a bit noisy. A friend of mine who was in the military said it sounded like a deep helicopter womp womp womp. It's warm at idle and fairly quiet, but you can still hear it with the windows down at traffic lights. There is absolutely no rumble on the highway, both windows are up or down, but the sound of the exhaust is still audible. You hear it clearly when you push it to pass, but there's still no hum. I drove it about 800 miles and it got a little louder, but not by much. That's joy. So if you're looking for a muffler that's louder than stock but not as loud as most exhausts, this is a great choice. Borla makes deep bass mufflers that sound harsh and for the price this is the best deal you can find.
