Impressive tool! Good for choppers

Let me just say this would be exceptional for the typical household. Unfortunately I bought this for other staff to use with the kitchen in the small 6 bed house I work in and 'someone' dropped the plunger on the floor and now it rattles and lets itself down not snap in down position for easy storage. However, it still works great but takes up more closet space. On the other hand, the blade is incredibly sharp! (As evidenced by the increased use of band-aids since employees began using them.) He slices boiled eggs, fresh or canned mushrooms, peppers, onions, pickles, and a variety of fruits and vegetables. Cleaning is quick thanks to the clever design of the detachable blade and plunger, which should never touch the cleaning water (just make sure it doesn't fall on the floor). The grinding motion is smooth and easy. I've been using Pampered Chef for many years and after just a few puffs my palm started to hurt. No fatigue with this guy! And once again, it's so easy to clean. Don't worry about ingredients from last year's meatloaf to pair with today's egg salad. do i like it Yes of course. Am I going to buy one for myself to use exclusively in my own kitchen? You bet! This would make a great gift for anyone starting out alone, getting married, or just doing a lot of hacking.** UPDATE REVIEW **Today I've upped my rating from 4 stars to 5. Today I ordered and received a new block for personal use and was surprised to see that I have been using the original block since November and when I compared the head and blade to the new one they were identical! The bowl remains durable and stain-free despite daily use of a variety of products that can cause stains or damage. Blade? This thing stays very sharp (deadly in fact) and I used the original last night to cut up salted peanuts for a hot sundae and it did the job with so little effort. I am absolutely delighted with this product!
