Review on 🌊 IceCap K1-100 Protein Skimmer: Enhancing Marine Aquarium Water Quality by Teresa Brady

First, the recommended 6-9 inch water level is terribly inaccurate. Anything deeper than 3-4 inches will cause the skimmer to overflow at high speed. I was told to keep it at the recommended water level and let it overflow until it stops. Unfortunately, after 3 weeks of waiting, it did NOT stop overflowing. even had to raise it above the 6-inch minimum recommended in the instructions. I'm guessing it's currently at about 4 inches deep. Even at this water level, the skimmer will start to fill the bowl randomly very quickly, to the point where it overflows within a minute. If you're not careful, you can instantly throw the entire Skimmat back into the swamp and get into terrible trouble. Another issue is the water level adjustment valve, it has NO VOLTAGE which means the slightest hit can open the valve and cause the skimmer to overflow. Too many negative points to recommend this skimmer. Buy yourself a TUNZE and you won't have these problems. I regret trying a new brand.
