I bought these specifically for a winch for tree felling that requires this type of rope. It is suitable for winches under tension. It's not for climbing trees. If only a winch. So far I've cut down 1 tree with it (meaning it was used to guide the tree I cut and hung). I'm not 100% sure but I think the rope slipped through the winch at one point, but I think it has more to do with the winch and the load.
