Great idea that doesn't work! I installed this and my phone in the car and within 24 hours the ball joint would not hold its position. He fell and did not stay in view. The ball joint needs improved holding power to keep the phone upright. Then the adjustment screw/nut that holds the top of the ball joint mounting arm in place and allows for adjustment was removed the second or third time I tried to hold it in place. As a phone, I used Samsung S7 Edge. The mirror mount worked well and the weight of the phone didn't shift the rearview mirror, but I think it has more to do with the mirror mount than the phone mount. Generally a great idea that fails miserably with this model. I glued the ball joint in and it worked for a while, but after about 4 months the whole machine just fell apart.
