Review on ✏️ Derwent Manual Dual Hole Pencil Sharpener (2301930) by Hannah Curi

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good recipe, bad blades.

It's true – sharpener blades are tough. However, I really wanted one of those canister style sharpeners that wouldn't dull easily. I have tried the Faber Castell and also the Tagaal. They work great for a while, but when they get dull you have to throw them out and buy new ones. The best hand sharpeners seem to have no capacity and are dirty. What I did do was remove the real little white wedge from that Derwent sharpener and replace the whole thing with a heavier duty 2-hole kum silver sharpener (they're only about $2 each and are even even cheaper if you buy a few in time). It fits into the top fairly snugly, stays in place with a dot of glue, and can be thrown away and replaced if needed.

Pros
  • double hole; Durable steel rotary blade
Cons
  • So far so good
