Bought a set of cheap chisels from Revain and found a lot of machining marks on the inside (back of the curves) which I used with the Scary Sharp method (sandpaper, wet dry side [pointed and round objects of various sizes Now that I've removed those marks the back and bevel are smooth enough to use this sharpener It took me some time and a few bad ideas to figure out why the Wave-E wasn't sharpening my chisels when I did now have a smooth surface to work with chisels, DMT Wave-E makes the smooth surface of my chisels mirror smooth and gives me a really sharp edge... Helps keep chisels sharp I only wish DMT made a diamond sharpener with a bigger size Diameter My chisels are about 3-1/2 inches long and I have to work them side to side ronu, not back and forth.wi e in the instructions. This works very well on my smaller radius chisels. hey
