Timer problem

The press is very easy to use, however sometimes the control cable doesn't work and the heating element has to wiggle. I'm concerned about this, but once it starts logging it works fine. The timer starts beeping about 80 seconds before hitting zero, which is annoying, but it easily hits 11-ounce cups. It doesn't fit 15 ounce mugs and other attachments don't seem to be available. It's ok because I just bought an 8 in 1 that has all the other attachments I wanted. Technical support replied to my email but did not offer a solution to the problem of poor contact on the heating element.
