I've used this shoe (size 13 wide) on the Arizona Trail and the Pacific Northwest Trail with no problems. I have pronation weakness, metatarsalgia and very high arches and use custom insoles. With a full load of gear, I load about 225 pounds of shoes and typically ride 400 to 600 miles per pair before they need to be replaced. These are hikes in creeks, rocky coves, snow, mud, etc., as well as sidewalks, dirt roads, and a good trail. I could probably keep pushing them, but I didn't want to risk breaking the shoe in the middle of nowhere. For me, the most common reason for a replacement is the sides of the shoe near where the forefoot flex begins to tear. I like these shoes because I feel light on my feet (i.e. much lighter than Merrill Moabs), have excellent breathability (not waterproof but feet dry quickly when wet) and have reasonable durability for the price. I've done about 8 pairs of hikes over the past few years and they suit me.
