Review on πŸ–₯️ GeeekPi Raspberry Pi 4 Case: High Performance Cooling Fan & Heatsink Bundle – Black with Large Fan by Jairo Cunha

Good cooling solution for Raspberry Pi 4

My Raspberry Pi 4 was approaching the temperature threshold (80Β°C) with a standard plastic case without a fan. So I was looking for a case that offers good airflow for cooling. This case does an excellent job of stabilizing the CPU temperature at around 62Β°C at 100% CPU load. A few things I noticed about this case: The fan pulls cold air from the top of the case and blows it directly onto the Pi board. It was not as shown in the product description photos as I expected it to suck hot air out of the case. However, this scheme seems to work well. A word of warning for those of you who like to stack your Pi cases: leave enough clearance (1-2 cm) above this case to allow for adequate airflow. The fan can run at high speed (5V, GPIO pin 2) or at low speed. (3.3V GPIO pin 1). Running the fan at high speed provides the best cooling, but there's an audible hum that's annoying when the Pi is close to where you work. I'm currently running the fan at a low speed of 3.3V, which is completely silent. Some reviewers have noted that the case interferes with the connection of the fan's ground jumper to pin 6 of the GPIO. This is true but there are 7 other ground pins. choose. Instead, I recommend using pin 9 for ground. I had no trouble connecting mini-HDMI or USB-C cables to the ports. There seems to be enough free space in the case. Overall, this is a great case for your Raspberry Pi 4. It also costs around $10.
