20ft Chess Set: Buying this chess set is a bit like owning a classic car in need of a little exterior restoration. It looks great from 20 feet away. It's made entirely of plastic. The board looks like a fake tree (and it looks fake) and the pieces are plastic. You also don't get extra queens, sorry. What did you expect? I ordered these chess pieces with the expectation (and a handy promotional price discount code) that they probably wouldn't look particularly real. I give credit to the manufacturer - the black parts look less artificial than I expected for how choppy they can look. I also appreciated drawstring pouches for pieces. The magnetic quality is so-so. My litmus test was to have the board with the pieces rotated 180 degrees. The white stones won. The queen, an elephant, two horses and the king flew without a parachute. With the black pieces, all but the five pawn pieces demonstrated the same gravity lesson for my impromptu physics lesson. The parts feel good in terms of weight. Despite the flaws, I would buy it again. This is a set if you lose it you won't be heartbroken. It's lightweight, so a plus for traveling. This is a great option for those looking for an inexpensive set that doesn't take up much space and plays chess occasionally. It's a decent set for a seven year old who may or may not stay with him to play the game. It also works great as a visual movement training set as you interpret various guides on how to improve your game. Again, this isn't a flashy, gorgeous wood-encrusted set with hand-carved details. This set is designed to remind you that there is an opportunity to spend time and play for fun with friends and family. That's what we need now - the connection to see our friends and enjoy each other's company in person. We overlooked this detail. i know what i have If your chess partner scoffs at the quality of that chess, find another partner if he's so superficial. Your chess may be artificial, but your relationships shouldn't be, especially now. Life is short. So go play the game. These are my words. I was not paid to give my opinion on this chess.
