Review on Kenwood KFC-1695PS: 6.5 Inch 2-Way Car Speakers - 320 Watts Peak Power (Pair) by Suhas Carney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great speaker replacement

The only thing I don't like is the power rating (watts) which makes it difficult to tell the power at a glance. These speakers said they were 320 watts. You will then find that each speaker is rated for a maximum output of 160. So 320 W is the sum of both speakers. Then you read on and finally realize that the continuous output is 100 watts into 4 ohms. It would be nice if the description said 100 watts of continuous operation with a peak power of 160 watts at 4 ohms. I'm replacing 20 year old bookshelf speakers where I need to make sure the amp doesn't melt the voice coil so knowing actual performance is important. It would be nice if they had a chart showing the actual power output at different ohms. Most stereo systems have an impedance of 4-16 ohms. I know they are called car speakers but I'm sure car stereo lovers would also like to know the true performance.
