Perfect solution for Raspberry Pi, ready to use. The sound card is plug-n-play for Raspbian (stretch). To enable the sound card one can use the Pi GUI preset or follow the instructions on this Adafruit website to enable the sound card by changing the configuration file. The 7.1 feature seems to be oversold, but it offers a good surround sound experience. I like how it's designed to support both separate speaker/mic ports and a 3.5mm speaker/mic combo jack. I'm very happy with it!
