Review on 🦎 Kaytee Lava Ledge Dual Pack by Lindsay Nguyen

Slats smell like mothballs. I washed them a few times in hot water and vinegar, soaked them and left them in the sun for a few days. It got rid of most of the smell unless you poke your nose in, but after a week in the cage it was finally gone. This causes the color to fade, which doesn't bother me personally. Very disappointing not being able to use this product right away. These are decent ledges and I'd happily buy more so my rats have more places to jump and file their claws, but I just feel uncomfortable going through the cleaning and waiting process again. Unfortunately I can't find any lava ledges in pet stores lately and Chewy reviews also mention the smell.
