If you're replacing a rear bumper that had factory clearance for a 7-pin RV trailer light connector, this bracket is perfect for a good replacement installation. For my setup I cut the corner piece off leaving room to drill and attach the bracket with two 1/4-20 screws. Even after assembly, the lid opens without jamming. You can even cut a ring between the holes (right side in picture) and just spread the bracket apart for a second to get the wire harness through before mounting the socket, so you win. It does not have to be separated for installation!
