Review on Renogy Solar Battery Maintainer Trickle by Peris Auditore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well yes, but actually no!

Great little charger that got my rarely used Hyundai Elantra started even in the (modest) Wisconsin winter. But after 7 months, the nylon webbing around the outer rim completely disintegrated. I thought I had a lot of door lock grease on my hand until I realized it was powder. Turns out the nylon turned to powder DURING SUN TREATMENT! Solar charger that must not be exposed to the sun. Looks like a problem. But I don't want to give it a bad rating. It still works fine and the problem is mostly cosmetic. I wiped the nylon with an oiled rag that I keep in the car, a lot can still fall off. I was thinking of spraying the remaining Plasti Dip nylon webbing or something. As for the charger, I first used it on a Ford Explorer which I drove about once a month. I just plugged it into my cigarette lighter and it worked like a charm. I switched cars and Hyundai doesn't have a cigarette lighter so I put a quick connect on it. Works great as a charger, but I suspect it won't do if it drops below -10°F. If I drove this car more often I don't think I would ever have a problem.
