Review on NETAMI NT 2416 Universl Tailpipe Stainless by Bill Howard

I chose this article after looking at numerous exhaust tips for my Chev. 4-door Silverado with 5.3 liter engine. The factory exhaust pipes on these trucks are 2.75" in diameter, so the description says they will fit. They arrived quickly thanks to Prime and I put them on the exhaust pipe and they slid right over it. Then I encountered a problem. The bolts that attach the nozzle to the exhaust were too short for the clips to slide around the exhaust. In other words, the included hardware will not work with a 2.75" exhaust pipe. Being a bit mechanical I solved the problem by buying 3 more screws - unfortunately the screw length needed was between the size listed and the next size available. I had to buy longer screws and then cut them to the right length with a Dremel tool. However, once cut to the correct length, they worked great, pressing the tip firmly against the end of the exhaust pipe. Haven't driven it yet but don't expect it to change the sound of the truck - it's ok, not what I wanted. The rest of the truck is chrome (Texas Edition) and the dirty plain OEM tailpipe didn't look good. Why doesn't Chevy bite the bullet, spend a few bucks more and put in chrome tailpipes when the rest of the truck is chrome?!? Anyway, I'm happy with the purchase and looks, which is what I was aiming for. Saved a lot of money here compared to buying the Chevy brand despite equipment difficulties.
