I have been buying K&N filters for over 20 years and have never had a problem. They are of good quality and easy to use. The air filters are efficient and easy to clean with the cleaning kit. BUT. This oil filter caused the CHECK ENGINE light to illuminate. My dealer changed the oil and used this K&N oil filter. Shortly after I left the dealership, the "CHECK ENGINE" light came on and the engine went into "sleep mode" and I had to drive home at 40 mph. I went to the dealer and they explained that there was "something wrong" with the K&N filters and that they restrict oil flow on SOME GM vehicles (mine is a 2019 GMC Acadia Denali AWD V-6). The dealer replaced the K&N filter with a GM filter and the car has run fine ever since (400+ miles). I sent the K&N filter back to K&N for "testing" and their representative told me the filter was "okay". BUT also promised to investigate further and discuss the situation with K&N management. I can not say that the filter was defective. Just that my car had a problem. A GM service manager told me that not using GM filters could void my warranty if I had further problems. YOU must decide for yourself whether you want to use NO factory filters or not.
