Personally, for me, the seam is well taped, but this is the second time that I buy this kind of hood scoop and put it on a car. I've learned that overlaying a JB weld is the best way to ensure it doesn't go anywhere. Even if the surface isn't completely flat, it doesn't like to stick. (I used type 2 silicone to fill in the gaps). I currently have two on my '97 Danger Ranger, the driver's side is purely aesthetic, the passenger's side covers a hole I made through the hole with a dremel.
