Review on πŸ”’ Thule Quick Loop Strap: Secure and Efficient Tie-Down Solution for Gear by Marc Hawkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Simple, efficient and durable.

I have used these with my Buick Lesabre when carrying my canoe and alternating my kayak on the roof rack. I was able to use Thule 529 straps under the hood with fender bolts, but I couldn't find the right bolts for the truck, so I needed another solution to tie down the stern of the boat. There are also no convenient attachment points on or under the bumper, so use the Thule 530 Quick Loop Strap. I wasn't sure if this was the right way to place them, but they worked flawlessly for multiple trips of several hundred miles each without incident. They do not move, do not stretch (even when wet) and do not leave any marks on the vehicle. They are easy and quick to put on and take off, feel very solid and should last a very long time. I'm usually alone when mooring boats so I found a trick to easily position them. Usually they just fall into the trunk due to the weight of the rubber end of the hose until the trunk is closed. And you can't hold them both in place and close the barrel at the same time (at least I can't). So I hang the tie on the side of the chest, attached to one loop that holds it in place while I hold the other loop with my hand and close the chest. Then just drop the tie to the boat and then to the other loop.
