Review on ๐Ÿ“ถ Enhance Your Network Performance with Ubiquiti UAP-AC-M-PRO-US Unifi Access Point, White by Phil Show

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable performance, easy to use, solid range

Like many other devices in the Ubiquiti line, this is a solid device that's well worth the investment. However, there are a few pitfalls to be aware of. First, the antenna pattern is predominantly toroidal; This means it's designed to be mounted at a height of around 6 to 8 feet, not necessarily on a tall pole. The higher you mount it, the larger the uncoated donut you'll have underneath. I installed ok. 16ft off the ground and probably a 40ft ring of poor coverage directly below or around it that is covered by another access point. In my setup I have a solid signal from four hundred to five hundred feet in the real world as long as there is no significant vegetation in the way. One of the problems with Wi-Fi is that vegetation blocks the signal, so you can lose some range depending on the terrain and vegetation. Access point management is easy. Turn it on, embed Unifi into your network, and set up any additional settings you might need, such as: B. Adjusting radio power levels and band management. If you've never worked with Ubiquiti's hardware before, it may take a little longer - it's almost enterprise-class hardware and requires at least a little internet savvy. Don't let that put you off - the forums are great and help is always a post/email/phone call away.

Cons
  • Mostly good, but...
