The device is solid and mostly well made, but some parts are poorly designed. The spring is not strong enough to securely hold the device upright. After using it for a short time, I dropped the phone vertically. I need to increase grip by adding a rubber band. The vertical-horizontal ball socket is tightened and loosened with a knobby ring, making it hard to tell if it's properly tightened or loosened before you rotate the phone - it would be better with a quick-release system. The slide that holds the phone is detachable from the hinge arm, but while it snaps firmly into place, there's plenty of play. So if you want your phone to be securely square in either a vertical or horizontal position, it won't be. It has a few degrees of play even when everything is locked. The whole block shakes a lot during movement, but I guess that's to be expected to some extent. On the good side. Feels solid and quality materials. The suction cup feels very tight on the windshield.
