I cut out the fingers the way I want as instructed. However, the existing holes are too close together and I ended up cutting each one two different ways to determine how I should do each. One way (1 thumb hole and 1 hole for the other 4 fingers) is comfortable, but if you point your toes the pad will collapse. The other way (1 big toe hole, 2 other holes with 2 toes each) was squeezing my toes into awkward positions AND the lining would fold. I think if you have this you should have narrow feet and toes fairly close together. However, the upholstery and the material are of very good quality. The holes didn't crash, which worried me at first, and the pads provide a very good rolling surface.
