Set it and forget it

Our company was making an effort to phase out K-cups during day-long meetings so we got 2 of these 30-cup brewers. They worked very well for the purpose we had in mind. Kept the coffee piping hot and readily available all day. They were even easy to carry -- the conference room was down the hall from the breakroom with the sink.Depending on what kind of water supply you have -- sink or filtration system -- you'll have to plan ahead for how you'll fill the brewers. We had a fairly large pitcher for the purpose. If memory serves, we had to fill it about 3 times to get to the 30-cup level. When it comes to adding the coffee grounds, get yourself a set of measuring cups. It's 1/2 cup of grounds for every 10 cups, so 1-1/2 cups for a full brewer, 1 cup for the 20-cup level, 1/2 cup for the 10-cup level. You have to have a steady hand to get the coffee grounds into the basket without them going into the water or down the little tube in the center. Then when you replace the basket on its stem, you have to judge by feel when the round bottom of the stem fits into the hole at the bottom of the brewer, because with the basket, you won't be able to see it.The instructions aren't the clearest, but once you use the brewer one time, you'll get it.Finally -- find the artistic individual in your group and have them hand-letter a cute little sign that says "Coffee takes 30 minutes to brew -- ready when light comes on." Plan ahead to have the coffee started so your early-birds won't have to wait too long. The cord is relatively short, so plan out where you'll want it. We had to position the brewer right at the corner edge of a table so that we could plug it in. Also, the spout is somewhat low, so you might think about putting the brewer on a box so that it will be easier to get a cup under the spout.Cleaning isn't bad; other than coffee grounds, you don't have to clean it that thoroughly if you have a long meeting and have to keep filling it. But when the meeting is over, you should take the time and give it a good going-over so the coffee will taste fresh the next time.Good product. Recommended.
