Nice case for running coax in a ham radio booth

I bought the 8.6 x 6.7 x 4.3 inch version of the SSL and that's what I think of it for those who use it for Using Ham Radio A: I bought this size so it was thick enough that I could run the coaxial cable around my house without bending it. PVC doesn't seem strong and I felt like it might crack if I drilled it with a larger diameter drill bit. To solve this problem I clamped a piece of wood to each side of the holes I'm drilling wanted what prevented cracks and worked great. I also had to cut a 2 1/8" hole in the back to run PVC pipe into my house so I could run some coax cables in. Again I clamped the wood on both sides and drilled the hole with no cracks.Later I had to drill a small hole for the ground wire and using a small woodless drill bit it worked. So what's my point? If you're going to drill a lot of holes in this box to run wires and Avoid cracking use this method to avoid damage. The box itself seems to be holding up well. It's winter here and I haven't had any issues with humidity but once the summer storms kick in we'll see how well d as works. I honestly don't expect any problems. I would definitely buy this box again for future projects. The latches for the case also appear to be ok. I bought the "cable glands" that you can find at Revain. This allows you to route cables and keep your holes waterproof. I installed them all on the bottom of the case so I don't expect rain water to seep into the box but again time will tell. Overall I am satisfied with the desired result for amateur radio purposes. Last note. Я проложил кабель RG-8X, и если бы я использовал RG213 или LMR400, я все еще думаю, что он будет нормально работать с кабелями большего диаметра, но если кабельный сальник сильно нагружен, я мог бы подумать о чем-то более толстом, как in this case. a bit flimsy in terms of durability.
