I think it's almost impossible to find a decent aquarium heater. I don't understand why it's so hard to put in a decent thermostat. Here are my problems: 1. The temperature settings on the knob are random intervals. You see in fig. I understand there isn't enough space to write every number from 65 to 89 or whatever, but the intervals are different. Sometimes they increase by 2, and sometimes by 3.2. The heater is not in series. It does not maintain a constant temperature. I had to raise my reservoir temp to 85 to cure it and when I got it apparently the heater didn't work for a few days and warmed up 3 degrees. 3. The heater front panel display is not current. The temperature of your tank is simply the temperature the heater is set to. Not very helpful.4. I asked the manufacturer about the size of this item and they replied with completely wrong measurements (around 2 inches). That means it didn't fit in my tank like I expected. Obviously their employees don't really know much about their products. I'd happily recommend something else, but I've tried many heaters (both this type and built-in) and haven't found a brand that would be a worthy product.
