Review on Control Devices Brass Tank Valve by Carl Movahed

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for a sleek, affordable and stylish Toyota 3VZE Fuel Pressure Gauge

This is exactly what I wanted. I bought it along with a Russell 640700 (M12x1.25) banjo bolt to make a fuel pressure sensor adapter for my 1994 (V6) 4Runner. It can be installed and removed with minimal effort, but it doesn't interfere or leak, so I'll probably just leave it as is. I should note that I also purchased a brass 90 degree road elbow in case I had gaping issues, but I didn't need it - only a bolt and valve is required if your FP gauge includes a hose. I wanted to check the fuel pressure after an engine overhaul just for discretion, but the EFI system Toyota was using at the time didn't include a service port like more modern systems, and I had to make my own decision. First assemble the adapter: the detachable banjo bolt has a 1/8" NPT female thread in the head and the metals need to seal against each other due to the tapered threads, so I just used red Loctite to make sure they didn't overshoot over time). Then remove the banjo bolt from the outside of the fuel rail on the driver's side (patch any spilled fuel with a rag or nothing will fit in that spot), replace it with an adapter and metal O-rings that mate with the banjo bolt were supplied and fit snugly to it no need to remove body through hole or coolant lines turn on the key (I shorted the appropriate diagnostic terminals to power the fuel pump in run mode without switching to start mode change, see factory service manuals freely available on the web) to check for leaks and close then eat a fuel gauge on. and do readings. Simple and effective, and as I said, it's completely unobtrusive and it would probably be good to leave it in place forever.
