One of the strengths of this router was the auto setup. Insert the installation disc, connect the cables as instructed, and programming should take the guesswork out of the process. A few minutes later, I got an error message that just said the installation failed. After I disconnected and tried again, not only did the installation fail, but I couldn't connect to the internet. My IP address has changed, resulting in a response from my computer. After spending far more time with my ISP's technicians than I would have liked, I was able to get online, but only in Safe Mode with Networking. Then I called Cisco Technical Support and went in circles for several hours. The Cisco tech seemed to think the issue was resolved since I was able to use the router in safe mode with networking enabled. I had to explain to him why that is not acceptable. Then he said he would escalate my issue and I should get a call in 3-7 days. All I can say is I'm glad I kept working on it myself and eventually everything worked properly because I never got the promised call back.
