Not ideal for X3 F25!

Shaft (used in place of towbar) 5-7mm shorter for use on F25 bumper (pre-LCI) without M-Sport. In this case, it is somewhat difficult to securely install the rest of the assembly into the bracket position, and this leads to the possibility of the entire bracket falling off (horizontally to vertically). Manual movement to return to the horizontal position can cause abrasion and material removal from the painted surface of the bumper. Increasing the length of the shaft can solve two problems: 1) Final tightening of the shaft before proceeding with assembly (I had to use an adjustable wrench as I didn't have a large enough head; not much room to torque) 2) Allow some clearance between the panel bracket and the car bumper. For those of you reading this review, I was a former designer who worked extensively on the production of the X3 F25 and most recently its successor, the G01. While I found the overall design of this mount to be much better than the less expensive ones, I do think the shaft is longer for the X5 variant. I found it odd that of all the models listed as compatible with this particular product, other BMW SAV/SACs were not included. --- UPDATE --- Mount "falls" repeatedly upright enough for other riders. told me about it. Luckily I've moved to a state where the faceplate is optional and I'm considering removing this mount COMPLETELY from my car. So much can be done to improve this product.
