Easy job on Jeep Compass

(Jeep Compass 2016) If you can do simple bolt on and off projects you won't have a problem with this. This is our only car so I drove slowly and it still only took 45 minutes. .For starters I found it easier to remove the battery which only takes 2-3 minutes. If you have big hands or are half blind (both of me) remove the battery. After removing the throttle body hose, use a zip tie to move the radiator hose out of the way. The two most troublesome parts are the sensor on the throttle body and the motor mount. (1.) I decided to unscrew the throttle body first and then lift it up to remove the sensor. The sensor has to be squeezed on both sides to detach and I couldn't get to it while it was still screwed on. (Fuck the sensor and you really have a problem) (2.) It would be like a compass, two internal throttle bolts connected to a bracket on the engine. There's nothing special about the mount other than how to align it when you put it back on. (I took the mounting bolt out of the engine and then put it back in after I installed the throttle body.) Note: Don't let that scare you. You just saved over $400. Also, there are some good videos showing how to do it. Just search and you will see them.

Pros
  • OEM fit, quality, finish. This AA Ignition electronic throttle body is built to the same specifications, if not better than the factory throttle body. The throttle body features an electronically controlled throttle body that is essential to the operation of your vehicle. Although this is not a genuine OEM part, it fits, performs and looks just like a factory part.
Cons
  • Unbelievable Price
