I am a licensed HAM radio operator. I build a lot of my own equipment including antennas and feed lines. An antenna feed line's biggest enemy is water. If it gets into a connection, it will seriously degrade the signal. That's why I got this tape.Silicone tape is perfect for providing a tight, waterproof wrap around coax connections. I tested a sample and it wrapped tightly and securely, as it should. (See photo)For outside coax applications, its best to cover the silicon tape wrap with a good electrical tape to fend off UV ray deterioration. Using the two wraps with the electrical tape on the outside, you have a good waterproof, UV proof connection that should stand up well to the elements for a long time.I couldn't find anything I don't like about this silicone tape. For coax applications, I highly recommend it.
