If you've never used silicone tape before, then briefly, it only sticks to itself. When you first stick it to itself, you are able to remove it (barely) for about the first day (see video), but after that it is pretty much fused to itself and is essentially one solid mass of silicone. I use this for wiring where it exits clam shell connectors on aircraft wiring, and where wiring needs some extra protection. Of course there are many other uses for it. This tapes bonds to itself very well. I comes in a nice plastic, screw top, case. (Unfortunately mine was broken during shipping.) I recommend keeping the tape in this case to keep dirt, dust,. etc off of it. The cleaner it is the better it will work.An easy five stars.

Most of these self-fusing tapes are rather narrow. This is a good 1.5 inches wide. Use some overlap and give a little pull on the tape while wrapping to get the best sealing. This worked well on a rubber air hose. It is also good for pinhole leaks in copper pipes. It would not rely on it as permanent solution but it is good for temporary patches. I ordered this to use with some exposed outdoor electrical connections that I wanted to protect from the elements. This silicon tape is versatile and good to have around the house or business, or to keep on your truck. While the uses are endless, the qualities that I like best about it are its water resistance, stretch, strength and self fusing. It does make an excellent grip tape too. I use XFasten Self-fusing Silicone Tape for my 3D printer projects where high temp wiring needs something that will hold up to the temp of the hotend. This works well for making thermistor wire connections. I have used it as a wrap of the hotend block as well.All in all this is a nice product that comes in a nice screw top container. Well worth a full 5 stars.

I do my own vehicle maintenance and enjoy around the house DIY projects as well as woodworking. I find having a roll of this silicone tape handy excellent for sealing and making weatherproof/waterproof any low voltage electrical connections. I used this last over a barrel connector on an outdoors solar light. That eliminated any chance of corrosion from moisture getting into the connector which is at the top of a tall pole. This is a great tape for waterproofing electrical connections.I recently upgraded the taillight bulbs on my SUV to LEDs. The LED bulbs' adapters plugged into the factory receptacles. Heat shrink was supplied, but it only shrunk enough to seal the connector end and not the wires going into it. Using this tape, I quickly weather sealed the entire assemblies.
