First, this foam filter is small, especially for a 10 gallon. Luckily I use this 2.5 gallon filter. I would not recommend using this filter for anything larger than 5 gallons. Don't be fooled by the "10 gallons" in the title. Second, this filter is noisy! You can hear it from another room. Sometimes it makes a clicking sound for about 30 minutes. If you are a customer who will have an aquarium in their bedroom, forget it. You won't be able to sleep. The only benefit to this is that it gets the job done, again in just 5 gallons or less.
