I have no idea why most locks have chrome dials because the high gloss makes the digits hard to see, especially if you're in a hurry. This lock is a game changer in comparison, as the dials are black with white numerals, so the high contrast and matte finish is user-friendly. The 4 digit function is good too, but to be honest I needed a non chrome finish. The only downside is that the lock is a lot heavier than my 3 digit lock due to the extra switch/dial. Also, the dials are a bit stiff, so now you have to turn them with two hands. Not sure if they will come loose so the latch can be removed with one hand.
