Makes it easy to top up batteries with distilled water to the correct level without worrying about under or over filling the batteries. I've needed this for many years and you could too. After reading the reviews of others I have found that I have just received this item and have not used it to refill battery cells and cannot verify its performance. I will try to update this review when I use it. Update, tried this thing and found it was overcharging the battery cell. The problem turned out to be that the lids weren't screwed on tight enough to keep air out of the filler, breaking the vacuum that was keeping this thing from leaking into the cell.
