I bought a 5 gallon bucket after reading online reviews and the owner of the hardware store told me people love this stuff. Bought a plastic strainer from Walmart for 0.87 cents and used it to dunk bike parts. After 3 hours most of the lighter things looked amazing! Clean it with a toothbrush and rinse with water and it will look like new. Helpful tip I read from another buyer: After washing the parts, dip them in the solution again and let them dry. This protects against oxidation and rust. Best of all, you can dip the aluminum and it won't turn black. For example, I've had several old aluminum connecting rods over the years that were covered in grease and road grime. soaked for 4 hours. The fat didn't get into the container, it just softened. When I took it out of the bucket I brushed my teeth over the sink and rinsed them and they looked NEW! ZERO elbow lubrication. A real time saver. Hopefully these 5 gallons will last 5 years. Probably the best way to do this is to pour into another container and then use that first rather than contaminating the entire bucket, but I've heard that over time the sediment settles to the bottom and top leaves clean Evapo-Rust. a worthy investment that makes me $$$ when repairing bikes and reselling parts.
