Review on Cat Mate Locking Flap White by Danielle Smith

We have 4 cats and we have decided they need to learn how to get in and out on their own. This door was easy to install after we were able to cut through the metal of the door. It's safe and looks good from the outside. The inside doesn't look that nice. It would be nice if the front and back widened towards each other to cover the gap (styrofoam, insulation) that is now visible when cutting the door. I have attached an image for reference. Looks good, but it would be nice if I didn't see the inside of the door. This door has a pretty strong magnet, and you have to give it a good nudge to open it. Now let's get to the interesting part of this review. My cats are indoors and outdoors and are avid hunters. This door was installed for almost 4 weeks and I honestly don't think it was in use. I was wrong. I also concluded that they seem to neglect to leave me "gifts" from their hunting adventures. A few days ago I woke up to find feathers, what appeared to be a belly and two bird legs spread out neatly on my bedroom floor. Somehow I overslept this meal. And two nights ago my cat Butters jumped on the bed. That's when I realized he had used the cat door because I knew I would let him out. Anyway, something didn't seem right as he jumped onto the bed. Turn on the lamp and surprise! A mouse was hanging from his mouth! stand on my bed I praised his skills a bit and kicked him out. The next morning he comes in and we hear this crazy noise - now he's brought the cicada. Needless to say, it was an adventure. lol May I recommend a door? Yes. Just keep in mind that you may receive "gifts".
